Bodh Gaya in Bihar will soon be developed as one of the 16 iconic destinations in India. As per the reports, Bihar’s Chief Minister has been presented with a detailed plan regarding this by the tourism department of Bihar. Bodh Gaya is one of the most significant places for the followers of Buddhism. Lord Buddha attained enlightenment in this place.
The Chief Minister was informed that the tourism department is planning to develop world-class accommodation for tourists, who visit the place from across the world. The Chief Minister has advised the tourism committee to frame the development plan after visiting the spot. The government is also developing a Mahabodhi Cultural Centre at Gaya, with a seating capacity of 2000 people. A standard guest house is also being built for the travelers. Other miscellaneous facilities are also being developed at Bodh Gaya for guests visiting the holy place.
As per the CM’s statement, “The state government is also working on a plan to link Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Vaishali, all the three important places where Lord Buddha visited and stayed. We are also working to provide all facilities to Buddhist monks and tourists visiting Bodh Gaya from other places.
Bodh Gaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is also home to the tree under which Buddha got enlightenment; it also has holy Mahabodhi Temple. Apart from this, there are several other important temples as well.
