Direct flights might be witnessed between Kathmandu and Dehradun soon. An official from the Nepalese delegation, who was recently present in Dehradun, met the representatives of the Uttarakhand Tourism Department to discuss about this plan and also about exploring tourism and adventure sports activities in India and Nepal.
Both the countries officials met at the Himalayan Tourism Samman Awards, organized by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department and PHD Chamber of Commerce. Both the officials discussed about the different ways to explore tourism opportunities and promoting it in both Dehradun and Nepal with the help of travel agents. Nepal Tourism Board Director Mani Raj Lamichhane represented the Nepalese delegation, whereas, Narendra Singh Quiriyal, Uttarakhand’s Tourism Director, represented from India’s side.
Discussions were held to promote adventure sports, such as – rafting, trekking, mountain biking, along with cultural tourism and religious tourism avenues. The Nepalese delegation also revealed the plan to set up a tourism information centre at 7 locations between Dharchula and Jaujibi.
Earlier, Dehradun to Nepal bus service was commenced after gaining all the approvals and permits. The service was started to facilitate travelers from both the countries.
